Washington State University Global Health Kenya conducts rigorous, locally grounded research across the diseases and health-system challenges that matter most in East Africa. From our base in Nairobi, our scientists partner with universities, governments, donors and communities to generate evidence that improves health policy and practice.

Our teams are organised around four programmatic pillars — Research Programs, Capacity Strengthening, Community Programs, and Innovation & Technology — supported by shared operations, finance, grants and data functions. Each pillar is led by a senior scientist accountable to the Country Director and a governing advisory board.
Every study we conduct is reviewed and approved by accredited institutional review boards and adheres to international standards for the protection of research participants. We are committed to informed consent, data privacy, community engagement and the responsible conduct of research. Our investment in research ethics capacity extends beyond our own work to partner institutions across the region.
